FEATURES
The 900 Series Nylon Ink must be mixed with the 900 Catalyst before printing on Nylon. Catalyst is available in 2 ounce, 8 ounce, and 1 gallon containers and must be purchased separately.
The catalyst helps the ink adhere better to hard-to-print fabrics such as nylon. However, there are also other uses such as adding catalyst to our 3820 Flock Adhesive to promote better adhesion of the flocking fibers.
Read more uses for catalyst on our blog.
APPLICATION
The catalyst should be thoroughly mixed in to the ink to the following proportions:
By volume = 16 parts ink to 1 part catalyst
By weight = 20 parts ink to 1 part catalyst
1 ounce of catalyst to 1 pint of ink
2 ounces of catalyst to 1 quart of ink
8 ounces of catalyst to 1 gallon of ink
Ink may be used immediately after mixing. Do not mix more ink than is needed for a job. Do not under-catalyze the ink. Pot life of mixed ink is 4 to 8 hours. Over-catalyzation will shorten the pot life.
If printing on cotton, it is not necessary to catalyze the ink. Print it as you would a normal direct print plastisol ink. SDS Refer to SDS prior to use.
